Just north of the Gin Cave, we find a fascinating section of the lower Boulder conglomerate, a part of Zechstein Cycle 1. The reef rampart’s edge experiences intense wave energy, reworking reef rubble to create this stunning boulder conglomerate. This easily identifiable feature is among the most remarkable lithofacies at Blackhall.
